Chitosan in agriculture
Chitosan is an all natural, organic plant elicitor and growth promoter. It elicits the plant's natural defence reactions against environmental stressors (e.g. drought, heat...), pests, and diseases.
Chitosan acts as a natural biocide and pesticide, and can reduce the application frequency of harsh and long-lived chemicals that are harmful to people and the environment.
Chitosan can also be used in the agriculture industry as a coagulation and/or flocculation agent to filter out microbes, organic matter, and metals from waste water.
