Chitosan at Aerospace
Chitosan, as a renewable natural material, displays excellent biocompatibility, biodegradability and antibacterial properties which makes it an attractive compound to use in many industries. In the aerospace industry, for example, chitosan can be used to make shape memory polymers (a type of smart material), and nanostructured chitosan aerogels for selective CO2 adsorption from aircraft cabins.
At ChiPro GmbH we drive innovation forward and are part of new product developments and research projects. Chitosan can be used as antibacterial coating, lightweight aerogel and insulation technic in aerospace and aircraft industries.
